PAKISTAN ARMY OFFICIAL ADMITS PAK'S INVOLVEMENT IN KARGIL WAR

Pakistan’s army official admitted their involvement in the 1999 Kargil War against for the first time. Army chief general Asim Munir at the Defence Day honoured the Pakistan soldiers who sacrificed their lives in wars against India. He also mentioned about Kargil War, that remained unacknowledged by the Pakistanis for decades.

"The Pakistani community is a community of braves which understands the importance of freedom and how to pay for it," said army chief Munir. He added, "Be it 1948, 1965, 1971, or the Kargil war of 1999, thousands of soldiers sacrificed their lives for the country and Islam."

In the statement, the Army chief directly confronted the deaths of the Pakistani soldiers in Kargil war, a battle in which Pakistani soldiers strategized occupying significant positions in Kashmir. Nevertheless, Pakistan faced severe humiliating defeat and fierce military outcome from India.
